Everglades Explorers

Encompassing 1.5 million acres, the Florida Everglades are a wetland that is home to many unique and endangered species. Today the students got an opportunity to explore a small part of those 1.5 million acres. We started the day by taking an airboat ride through the sawgrass-filled water. Captain Chuck was even successful in finding an alligator. The students learned more about some of the exciting animal inhabitants of Florida including corn snakes, alligators, panthers, bobcats, and more. We finished the day with a picnic-style lunch. It was an exhilarating day of exploration in Florida’s natural tropical wilderness.
