I Am Woman, Hear Me ROAR!!!

March is National Women’s Month. The fourth grade students celebrated women by reading a biography about an influential woman, past and present, who contributed positively to society. Once the biography was read, the students got busy putting together a presentation to teach their classmates all about their influential woman. We had videos, book advertisements, puppet shows, and becoming the character.  We all learned a tremendous amount about these women’s roles in the making of history!

#SagemontIsSuperFun

Super Sagemont Week is a great way for kids to get a little goofy while showing their school spirit. Each day, the kids had a theme for dressing up, and we finished the week with Super Sagemont Day. Monday was #SagemontsMarchMadnessSportFanDay. Students got an opportunity to wear their favorite sports jersey. Tuesday brought #SagemontsThrowBackTimeWarp where the students dressed up in clothes from their favorite decade. On Wednesday it was #SagemontsSuperHeroes with the students representing their favorite super hero. The week was finished with #SuperSagemontDay. Our students dressed in gold to represent the fourth grade.
Super Sagemont Day was new and exciting with the students spending the day at Weston Regional Park. They got to participate in many fun games and activities. We think that Super Sagemont Week was #SuperFun

St. Augustine 2016-2017

Visiting the Nation’s Oldest City, St. Augustine, was quite the experience for the 4th graders, chaperones, and teachers. We visited the Old Jail, Pirate Museum, Fountain of Youth, Fort Menendez, Colonial Medicine, and Castillo de San Marcos. In addition, the students got an hour-long trolley tour of St. Augustine and got to participate in a nighttime Pirate Treasure Hunt. It truly was a magical experience bringing the social studies books to life.
