4A
was a scientific force to be reckoned with as they won the 2016-2017 Science Bowl.
The three homerooms listened, discussed, and answered for three rounds. After
the third round, 4A was the definitive winner. Congrats to our winners,
participants, and alternates (4A: Captain Antonio Mayo Mariscal, Rylin

Werner Weinstock
The fourth and fifth grade students were
fortunate today to have holocaust survivor and liberator Werner Weinstock speak
to them about his experience in WWII. The hour-long presentation took students
on a journey from his life in Berlin in the 1930s He escaped worn-torn Germany
with his mother, father, and brother to Havana, Cuba. His family was eventually
welcomed into the United States. Once in the United States, Mr. Weinstock
joined the United States Army and fought in WWII in Japan. Later, he was in
Germany as part of the denazification process. His experiences were captivating for the
students and teachers alike. We are incredibly thankful that we have the opportunity
to learn his lessons so something like this will never happen again.
